Many people try as hard as possible to live as close to where they work. However, it is not always possible, usually due to inflated prices and a shortage in housing and apartments. If you have jobs in London it can be very difficult, if not impossible to find affordable housing in the near area to where you work, especially if it is near the centre.
People have the option of either renting or buying in the suburbs, although this is becoming more expensive by the day. It also often means looking at the not so nice areas just to be able to afford a place which is not the best option.
Increasingly more people though, are deciding to commute into places such as London. There are some bargains to be had, both rental and to buy, within two hours commute of the centre and although this means an early start and a late finish, people do prefer this if it means that they can enjoy a comfortable life style.
Of course there is one more option to choose from! Many employers are allowing their staff to work one or more days per week from home now and they just have to commute to the office where necessary, so in this case you could have the best of both worlds, working in London and living in the country!
