Luckily for property developers, people have widely varying tastes when it comes to the house or apartment of their dreams. Some people prefer to own a house and a garden, as it is more private and they usually have more room than an apartment.
Others prefer the hassle-free approach to an apartment as they have no garden to tend and no maintenance to do other than maybe paint the interior once in a while and refresh the Jaloezieen en raambekleding.
The benefits of both opinions are clear. Outside space is very important and most apartments have a balcony or communal area at the most. Many people are tempted by a garden and often a large one at that – they don't realise that soon they will spend all their time mowing, cutting and weeding without the time to enjoy it!
With a house you have more space to yourself and the neighbours are not usually right on top of you so it is more private. You don't get someone banging about on the ceiling in the middle of the night, nor do you get loud music blaring (unless you want it!).
However, you can also get some pretty spacious apartments now, even bigger than many houses on the market. And many new apartments come with top of the range facilities on site such as secure underground parking and a gym.
