British Pentathlon - Performance

Consideration Criteria 2005

The World Class Talented Athlete Programme (WCTAP) focuses on the development including physical, technical ? tactical and mental training. The long-term goal of the WCTAP is to prepare the best and most committed talent in Modern Pentathlon for seamless transition into established World Class Performance Programme.

The WCTAP for Modern Pentathlon has been funded by Sport England since 2002. The number of athletes who have become eligible for inclusion for the WCTAP in 2005 to date currently exceeds the number of athletes who may receive the WCTAP support.

An updated set of Entry Level Consideration Standards is available on this site (see links below). It is emphasised that these standards are consideration and not selection standards. All current programme athletes have been given specific minimum performance targets reflecting the level of support and time being on the programme to secure continuation of support for 2005. Additional targets will be discussed in detail during individual Performance Monitoring Review interviews.

A set of consideration standards has been produced and can be downloaded in Word or PDF format.
